Melt butter and set aside to cool.
Beat eggs, then gradually add sugar. Stir in vanilla and cooled butter (warm is okay, but not hot). Beat in flour and baking powder. The dough will be thick and sticky.
Drop spoonfuls of dough onto waffle-cone maker and hold lid closed (but don’t burn yourself).
For cones, quickly roll waffle around a cone as soon as it is removed from the waffle iron. For bowls, drop waffle into a bowl to shape. It will quickly harden as it cools.
