Peanut butter and jam is always an option, but not one we use too often. I like to have good sandwich ingredients available. This includes:
- roast beef
- crab salad
- hard-boiled duck eggs for making egg salad
- tomato slices
- pickle slices
Sometimes we make a salad with our choice of the above ingredients, completely omitting the bread. Other times I bake oat bread so that we can eat wheatless sandwiches. For special occasions, I’ll purchase croissants, hoagy rolls, or low-carb tortillas.
